The importance of “Normal”

Happy New Year from Tech Corner! We did a bunch of practical testing over the holidays while Brandon and I were on the East Coast (a big thank you to my parents for their patience being guinea pigs for us), and I wanted to share some of our results. A bit of context for this testing: the whole team has established individual movement baselines over the last few months of beta testing, but we need to compare “normal” with “abnormal” to test the sensitivity of our models. To do this, we simulated “abnormal” using braces: an ankle brace, a knee brace, and a back brace. The goal is to be able to automatically identify slight changes to an individual’s normal gait, i.e. early indicators of developing musculoskeletal or neurological changes, and improve longevity. While I won’t share the results from our supermodels (can’t give away our secret sauce, even in the Tech Corner 😉), check out a snapshot of the raw data below!  🧠

Subtle differences, but we can pick up on them with our fingerprint method 😎
